In an exhilarating fusion of technology and art, MyCompanions is thrilled to announce its partnership with world-renowned artist Jen Liu to unveil an innovative AI bot for artists. This collaboration not only promises to redefine how artists and audiences interact with art in the digital age, but also aims to make a meaningful impact by donating a portion of proceeds to charity, specifically Asian migrant sex worker NGOs.
The AI bot, named Cloud (@I_Am_CloudBot on Telegram) , features Liu’s work in her “Jen Liu: I am Cloud” exhibition (currently on view at Blindspot Gallery in Hong Kong until Nov 2, 2024), and provides a two-way conversational relationship with the user and art, revolutionizing the way art can be consumed in the standard one-way consumption-based model.
Jen Liu, known for her thought-provoking explorations of diasporic identities and speculative feminism, brings her unique perspective to the development of this cutting-edge AI bot. Combining Liu’s artistic vision with MyCompanions's advanced algorithms, the AI bot will serve as both a collaborative tool for artists and an engaging companion for art enthusiasts.
"We are excited to merge the realms of art and technology," says Maggie Sin, CEO of MyCompanions. "Jen’s groundbreaking work challenges conventions and invites dialogue, and we believe this AI bot will inspire a new generation of creativity and collaboration."
Jen Liu uses video, painting, sculpture, biomaterials, and dance to explore diasporic Asian identities and postcolonial themes through imaginative narratives. Her work has been exhibited at prominent venues like the Whitney Museum and various international biennials, earning her several prestigious awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship. Liu was an artist-in-residence at Asia Art Archive in America in 2024.
